Several emergency response teams were dispatched to the area near Mobile Public Beach in the Şirinyalı Neighborhood of Muratpaşa district in Antalya last night following a report that a vehicle had plunged into the sea from the cliffs.
Multiple fire, police, AFAD (Disaster and Emergency Management Authority), coast guard, and health teams were sent to the scene based on the testimony of an unidentified eyewitness.
Fire and AFAD teams combed the cliffs with a rope system. In case the vehicle had fallen into the sea, the coast guard and maritime police also joined the search efforts in the area.
The Chief of Police, Ilker Arslan, visited the scene to receive updates on the ongoing operations. After extensive searches, the teams focused on an object spotted among the waves and managed to identify the license plate of the car. It is currently suspected that the individual in the vehicle might be E. Ş.
A thermal camera-equipped drone was utilized to conduct detailed searches in the region, as the search efforts were hampered by strong winds and waves late into the night.
Despite the challenging conditions, the teams continued their search throughout the night to determine whether E. Ş. was in the vehicle or not. The use of advanced technology such as drones with thermal cameras by the AFAD played a crucial role in the search operations.
