A coordinated operation was launched by the Akçakale Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office in coordination with the Provincial Security Directorate’s Department for Combating Migrant Smuggling and Border Gates on individuals involved in migrant smuggling.
After approximately 3 months of technical and physical surveillance, 8 suspects were detained in simultaneous operations on 8 addresses identified in the provinces of Şanlıurfa, Gaziantep, Amasya, and Mersin.
Following the procedures at the police station, the suspects were referred to the court and subsequently remanded in custody by the duty magistrate.
The operation was part of ongoing efforts to combat migrant smuggling and strengthen border security in the region.
Authorities have been cracking down on illegal activities such as migrant smuggling, which poses risks to both the individuals being smuggled and the security of the region.
