The Provincial Gendarmerie Command has initiated a campaign to prevent firing guns into the air during celebrations such as weddings, military send-offs, and sports competitions. The aim of this campaign is to enhance public safety and prevent any potential dangers caused by such reckless actions.

As part of the campaign, gendarmerie officers in civilian or official uniforms have been conducting strict inspections at events held in rural areas, including weddings and military send-offs, to prevent actions that may disrupt public order and endanger people, especially those involving firing guns into the air.

A total of 41 individuals who were found to have organized unauthorized weddings or events and fired guns into the air during these celebrations have been fined a total of 75,304 Turkish liras. In addition to these fines, the individuals have also started to face legal action for endangering public safety and disobeying orders.

During the inspections, a total of 8 pistols, 6 hunting rifles, and 5 blank guns have been seized by the authorities. This is a significant step towards preventing potential accidents or injuries that may occur as a result of firing guns into the air during celebrations.

The Provincial Gendarmerie Command has urged citizens to report any instances of guns being fired into the air during weddings or events by calling the emergency hotline number 112. This appeal aims to encourage community members to contribute to ensuring public safety and preventing any harmful incidents caused by reckless behavior.
