According to a study conducted by GOBankingRates, the U.S. has several retirement hot spots where retirees can live out their dreams. Florida and Arizona are among the top states with the most retirement destinations, with cities like Clermont, North Port, Fort Myers, and Vero Beach South being popular choices. The study analyzed the fastest-growing retirement hot spots based on the percentage increase in the population of people aged 65 and over over five years. Arizona’s Goodyear ranked as the number one retirement hot spot with a 61% increase in the retirement age population.

Other top retirement hot spots include Sugar Land, Texas; El Dorado Hills, California; Gallatin, Tennessee; and Fort Myers, Florida. These cities have seen significant increases in the retirement age population over the past few years, making them attractive options for retirees looking to settle down. Florida, in particular, has the most cities on the top 50 list, with 12 retirement hot spots overall, indicating its popularity among retirees.

The study also highlighted cities like Peoria, Arizona; Longmont, Colorado; and Annapolis, Maryland, which have also experienced notable increases in their retirement age populations. These cities offer a range of amenities and attractions that cater to retirees, making them ideal places to live out one’s retirement years. Factors such as cost of living, access to healthcare, and overall quality of life should be considered when choosing a retirement destination.

Retiring in a location with a growing retirement age population can have its benefits, including access to a vibrant community of like-minded individuals and potential social opportunities. Whether retirees are seeking a peaceful coastal town, a bustling city with cultural attractions, or a serene mountain retreat, there are plenty of options to choose from. By conducting thorough research and considering their budget and lifestyle preferences, retirees can find the perfect retirement hotspot to enjoy their golden years.
