Aman has postponed the launch of its first yacht-style cruise offering until at least 2027. The luxury group plans to debut an ultra-luxury motor yacht in partnership with Cruise Saudi. The vessel will combine elements of an ultra-luxury ship and a private yacht, fusing Eastern mystique with minimalist chic. The competition in the luxury yacht-style cruise segment is heating up, with other brands like Marriott International’s The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, Four Seasons Yacht, and Accor’s Orient Express Silenseas also set to debut their own luxury yachts.

Aman’s upcoming luxury motor yacht, provisionally named Aman at Sea, was originally scheduled to debut in 2025 but has been delayed to 2027 due to construction delays. The ship will be created by Italy’s T. Mariotti shipyard and designed by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, focusing on a theme of tranquility that combines Aman’s Eastern heritage with a contemporary style. The vessel will be approximately 600 feet long and accommodate 100 passengers in 50 suites, each with a private balcony. It will be the world’s first dual-fuel powered new-build cruise ship, using both marine diesel oil and methanol to run, with lower carbon emissions compared to traditional cruise ships.

Aman at Sea will offer a range of amenities, including multiple restaurants, a club lounge, an oversized spa with a Japanese-style garden, two helipads, and a beach club with direct water access for watersports. The vessel will have a higher staff-to-guest ratio than standard cruise ships, with two staff members per guest. Aman is partnering with Cruise Saudi, backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, to create the ship, aligning with Saudi’s efforts to expand its tourism and cruise industry. Aman Group has appointed Jonathan Wilson as CEO of its luxury yacht brand, responsible for the development and operation of the vessel.

Aman has been offering maritime adventures since 2015 with its sailing ship, Amandira Yacht. The twin-masted Phisini vessel provides bespoke, small-group itineraries for travelers looking for unique sailing experiences. With its entry into the luxury yacht-style cruise segment, Aman aims to set a new standard for small-ship cruising, combining the brand’s signature luxurious and tranquil experiences with innovative design and environmentally-friendly operations. Ultimately, Aman’s upcoming yacht-style cruises will offer passengers a unique blend of Eastern mystique and minimalist chic in a luxurious and immersive setting.
