According to a statement on the website of the Turkish Coast Guard Command, a coast guard ship was dispatched to the waters off Marmaris upon receiving information about irregular migrants on a life raft.

Teams rescued 48 irregular migrants, including 9 children, who had been pushed into Turkish territorial waters by Greek elements on the life raft. They also apprehended two suspects believed to be migrant smugglers.

In the waters off the district of Datça, coast guard teams stopped a sailing boat upon receiving information that a group of irregular migrants were on board. They detained 48 irregular migrants, including 12 children, along with two suspects believed to be migrant smugglers, who were moving on the sailing boat on the route to Italy.

Four suspects believed to be migrant smugglers were taken into custody.

After the necessary procedures, the irregular migrants were handed over to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management.
