According to a statement on the website of the Turkish Coast Guard Command, a rubber boat with irregular migrants on board drifted off the coast of Datça due to engine failure and a request for help was made. In response, rescue teams were dispatched to the area.

The Coast Guard team managed to rescue 35 irregular migrants, including 3 children, from the boat. The migrants were then handed over to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management after the necessary procedures were completed.

This incident highlights the dangers faced by irregular migrants attempting to cross the sea in unsafe boats in search of a better life. The Turkish Coast Guard plays a crucial role in rescuing migrants in distress and ensuring their safety.

It is important for countries to work together to address the root causes of irregular migration and to create legal pathways for migration in order to prevent such dangerous journeys across the sea.

The Turkish authorities continue to monitor their borders and coastal areas to prevent illegal crossings and to provide assistance to those in need. The cooperation of various agencies, such as the Coast Guard and the Migration Management Directorate, is essential in addressing the challenges posed by irregular migration.
