According to a statement from the governorship, the Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams carried out simultaneous operations at addresses determined in the Şahinbey and Şehitkamil districts, under the coordination of the Republic Chief Public Prosecutor.
A total of 32 suspects were detained on charges of smuggling during the operation. During the searches conducted at the addresses, 17,055 packs of smuggled cigarettes and 112 packs of smuggled tea were seized.
The suspects are currently undergoing processing at the gendarmerie.
