The Prosecutor’s Office has announced that, as part of investigations carried out by the Terrorism Crimes Investigation Bureau, arrest warrants have been issued for 5 suspects who have been determined to be involved in the current structuring of FETÖ based on statements made by suspects who have cooperated in effective repentance, analysis of digital materials obtained, technical and physical surveillance conducted, and statements/photo identifications taken so far in the investigation.
In another investigation conducted by the Prosecutor’s Office, suspects linked to the FETÖ structure known as secret services in the Turkish Air Force Command were identified. It was determined that 7 dismissed officers, 3 non-commissioned officers, 2 military students whose affiliations had been terminated, and 7 secret executives communicated with civilian imams using fixed lines with credits in public places such as buffets, grocery stores, and markets in the provinces where they were stationed.
A total of 19 suspects, including 7 secret executives, 7 dismissed officers, 3 non-commissioned officers, and 2 military students whose affiliations had been terminated, were targeted for arrest warrants. Operations to apprehend these suspects are ongoing in Ankara by the police department.
The operations are a part of ongoing efforts to dismantle the FETÖ structure within the country and bring those involved in terrorist activities to justice. The arrests of these suspects are crucial in preventing the organization from carrying out any further illegal activities and ensuring the safety and security of the public.
The Turkish government has been cracking down on FETÖ since the failed coup attempt in 2016, which the organization is accused of orchestrating. The government has declared FETÖ a terrorist organization and has been working diligently to investigate and apprehend individuals affiliated with the group.
The continued efforts by law enforcement agencies to identify and arrest individuals associated with FETÖ demonstrate the government’s commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring the safety and security of Turkish citizens. The operations send a strong message that terrorist activities will not be tolerated, and those involved will be held accountable for their actions.
