In Week 3 of the 2024 college football season, Southern Eastern Conference (SEC) showed its strength, challenging perspectives that the SEC is fractured. This was particularly evident when Kentucky showed a good fight against top-ranked Georgia, where the latter won with a close margin of 13-12. The Bulldogs, however, had a lacklustre offensive performance with a total of 262 yards only. Georgia will next be going against Alabama on September 28. Meanwhile, Texas claimed victory against UTSA with a score of 56-7, with redshirt freshman Arch Manning performing strongly after Quinn Ewers left the game due to injury.

Meanwhile, Ohio State and USC remained idle in Week 3, while Tennessee defeated Kent State with a score of 71-0, mainly due to an excellent performance in run game. Ole Miss emerged victoriously against Wake Forest with a score of 40-6, thanks to superb performance by their current top quarterback, Jaxson Dart. Alabama defeated Wisconsin with a score of 42-10, the highest by an opponent at Camp Randall since 2008, putting quarterback Jalen Milroe in the Heisman conversation.

Penn State also stayed idle in Week 3, while Oregon defeated Oregon State with a score of 49-14, displaying a strong offensive and defensive performance. Miami similarly won against Ball State with a score of 62-0, due to Cam Ward’s strong performance. Missouri had a comeback win against Boston College with a score of 27-21 due to their QB Brady Cook’s skilful portrayal.

The following teams also had their share of victories; Oklahoma State conquered Tulsa with a score of 45-10, Utah triumphed over Utah State with a score of 38-21, Michigan overpowered Arkansas State with a score of 28-18, LSU won over South Carolina with a score of 36-33, Kansas State reigned over Arizona with a score of 31-7, Oklahoma defeated Tulane with a score of 34-19, Illinois overcame Central Michigan with a score of 30-9, Nebraska beat Northern Iowa with a score of 34-3, and UNLV defeated Kansas with a score of 23-20.

On the other side, the following teams remained idle in week 3: Clemson, Louisville, Syracuse, and Iowa State. Notre Dame made a comeback from their previous loss by defeating Purdue with a score of 66-7. However, it is worth noting that this is just the beginning of the season and the true strength of these teams will be truly tested as they face even more competitive games in upcoming weeks.
