Under the leadership of the Youth and Sports Provincial Director Ali İhsan Kabakcı, a metal and carpentry workshop was transformed into a center that produces sports equipment for schools two years ago.
In the workshop, equipment needed for various sports such as wrist wrestling tables, volleyball poles, basketball hoops, metal tools, baseball bats, as well as tennis and canoeing were produced by a team of 30 people.
This has led to significant savings compared to purchasing equipment from outside sources that cost thousands of liras.
Youth and Sports Provincial Director Ali İhsan Kabakcı stated that they emphasize savings by using domestic resources.
Explaining that they have transformed the metal and carpentry workshop into a facility that produces equipment for schools, Kabakcı said, “So far, we have made all kinds of equipment, including hoops, volleyball poles, chess tables, wrist wrestling tables, and other sporting accessories, for 150 of our schools.”
Emphasizing the importance of the project prepared to increase the interest of young people in sports and expand the facilities of schools in the field of sports, Kabakcı stated that there have been positive feedback on sports equipment.
Kabakcı stated that their efforts have not been in vain and that success has been achieved in many sports fields with the contribution of the materials they produce.
“We started production in our workshop for schools about 2 years ago when there were no savings measures. We make all kinds of office supplies. If we were to give a figure, we have saved over 20 million liras today with this work. Because while providing this opportunity to schools, we have covered the supply materials. This is a pleasing event for us because we manufacture our products in our own facilities at much lower prices,” Kabakcı remarked.
Kabakcı mentioned that extreme sports equipment is sold in foreign currency and added that while they would have to pay around 150,000 liras for a material for Olympic canoeing, they produced it in their workshop for 40,000 liras.
In summary, the transformation of a metal and carpentry workshop into a center that produces sports equipment for schools has led to significant savings and success in various sports fields. The efforts of the Youth and Sports Provincial Director Ali İhsan Kabakcı and his team have been fruitful in promoting sports among youth and expanding sports facilities in schools while emphasizing the importance of using domestic resources for savings in sports equipment production.
