The Turkish Coast Guard Command has found a group of irregular migrants on a sailboat off the coast of a district, according to a statement on the Coast Guard’s website. In response to the information, a Coast Guard boat was dispatched to the area.

The sailboat was stopped along the route to Italy, and upon inspection, 14 children and 75 irregular migrants, as well as 2 suspects believed to be migrant smugglers, were found on board. The suspects were arrested on charges of migrant smuggling.

In addition to the sailboat, a rubber boat was also stopped by the authorities off the coast of the district, and 28 irregular migrants, including 2 children, were apprehended.

After the necessary procedures were carried out, the foreign nationals were sent to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management.
